Hello!
My name is Steven Dean Moore. I'm an American live entertainment professional living in London, splitting time in NYC, and traveling wherever work takes me. I began my career as a magician, juggler, and sideshow artist before transitioning to other forms of live performance. I make work that is immediate, transportive and engaging. I believe that we have to give audiences a real experience, pulling them away from their screens at home and gathering in person to bear witness.
I am a multi-award winning International Performer / Director / Choreographer / Creative Technologist originally from New York City. I specializes in movement-based musicals, plays, new work development and innovating emerging theatrical technologies. Select directing and/or choreography credits include Urinetown (Lost Nation Theater, Winner Broadway World Regional Awards, Dir. Sarah Jane Schostack), East Meets West (Her Majesty's Theatre), Spring Awakening (Rose Nagelberg Theater, John W. Engeman Theatre), Heathers (John W. Engeman Theatre), James and the Giant Peach (Barrington Stage Company), Moby Dick Rehearsed (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), and a season-long residency with College Light Opera Company. Additionally, I am an International Award winning Magician, Juggler, and Sideshow artist. My illusion consultancy work has been seen with companies like MTV, Punchdrunk, YouTube Red Studios, John W. Engeman Theatre, Barrington Stage Company, and the famous Coney Island Freakshow. I continue to develop new virtual theatrical technologies and have been commissioned by multiple theaters in the USA and UK for new works and development. I am an Associate Lecturer at Performers College BIMM in Birmingham and LMA - London. I have taught master classes and directed productions at institutions like ArtsEd, Penn State University, Barrington Stage Company, Rose Bruford, and John W Engeman Theatre to name a few. I hold a BFA from Ithaca College in Musical Theatre.
